I take up this kind of a walk Challenge once in a month for sure…☺
Often my Fitsvilla? companions join me and they make this a complete celebration?.
Walking has been amongst the first activates that we learn as toddlers.
I look at ~ WALKING ~ beyond just a physical activity that benefits us in several ways.
OFTEN WALKING BECOMES A FORM OF MEDITATION FOR ME.When I begin my walk , with my favourite music…I already feel happy… and by the time I’m done… I’m happier.
The fresh air nourishes me…I breathe deeply and feel more vitalised with every breath in. The greenery makes me feel calm and composed .My body feels lighter …and my swinging hands
feel stronger. All is soo beautiful and positive then.
It’s only the little strain in my calf muscles that brings me out of the blissful state.
A few things I always keep in mind when I begin my walk.
●Begin slow and allow the body to warmup.
●Increase pace gradually after 4 to 5 minutes.
●Continue for a minimum of 20 mins.
●Remember to slow down for the last 5 mins allowing body to cool down.
My preffered mode of ending my meditative walk often ☺?
●A few moments in shavasana on my yoga mat and then finally OM chanting leaving me feeling complete.
I read this somewhere and found it perfect to describe how I feel about my walks ?
“Walking becomes my Meditation
and the Road becomes my
WALKING MEDITATIVE PATH !”
And now it’s your turn !
A promise to yourself !
To walk ENOUGH everday !
But the challenge is to adopt it in a structured manner , such that it serves as a daily dose of Fitness and Wellbeing.
Make your walking a celebration.
